Our Research
The Mind and Brain Lab engages in cognitive, educational, and clinical human brain research. Our basic research examines the neural basis of speech, language, reading, working memory, and learning in healthy and patient populations. Complementary applied research draws upon this foundation to inform studies on effective instruction and intervention in reading and math. We use behavioral measures, magnetic resonance imaging, magnetoencephalography, and neuropsychological methods to discover how the brain gives rise to the mind.
